https://globaldigitallibrary.com/journals/ioarp-jbm/article/view/173

Strategic leadership has emerged as a foundational discipline for organizations navigating unpredictable, complex, and highly competitive market environments. Dynamic markets characterized by rapid technological disruptions, shifting customer preferences, globalization, and socioeconomic uncertainties require leaders who can integrate foresight, agility, and adaptive decision-making into organizational strategy. This review synthesizes key theoretical models of strategic leadership, explores how these models apply to contemporary dynamic contexts, and analyzes emerging trends that redefine leadership practices. The review also examines applications of strategic leadership across sectors, highlights limitations and challenges inherent in both theory and practice, and proposes directions for future research. Through an integrative narrative anchored in scholarly and applied insights, this article contributes to a deeper understanding of how strategic leadership shapes organizational resilience and competitive advantage in dynamic markets.
Mehul Mehta

https://globaldigitallibrary.com/journals/ioarp-jbm/article/view/171

Corporate governance has attracted sustained scholarly and practical attention due to its perceived role in enhancing organizational accountability, transparency, and performance. Repeated corporate failures and global financial crises have intensified debates regarding the effectiveness of contemporary governance mechanisms and their capacity to safeguard stakeholder interests while promoting long-term value creation. This review critically examines the relationship between corporate governance and firm performance by synthesizing theoretical perspectives, regulatory developments, and empirical evidence from prior studies. Drawing on agency theory, stewardship theory, resource dependence theory, and stakeholder theory, the paper highlights the evolution of governance from a narrow shareholder-centric model toward a broader, multidimensional framework that integrates sustainability, ethical oversight, and strategic guidance. The review reveals that while sound governance practices are generally associated with improved financial and non-financial performance, this relationship is highly contingent on institutional environments, ownership structures, firm characteristics, and measurement approaches. The analysis further underscores emerging governance challenges related to executive compensation, shareholder activism, regulatory compliance, technological transformation, and environmental, social, and governance considerations. By identifying conceptual ambiguities, empirical limitations, and contextual variations in existing research, the paper contributes to a deeper understanding of how corporate governance influences performance and outlines directions for future research aimed at developing more adaptive and context-sensitive governance frameworks.

Aarav Mehta

https://globaldigitallibrary.com/journals/ioarp-jbm/article/view/169

Organizational agility and resilience have emerged as central constructs in contemporary business management literature, driven by increasing environmental uncertainty, digital disruption, and global crises. This review synthesizes theoretical foundations and practical applications of organizational agility and resilience, highlighting how firms adapt, respond, and thrive under volatile conditions. Drawing on classical organizational theory, dynamic capabilities theory, complexity theory, and resilience frameworks, the review examines how agility enables rapid sensing and responding to change, while resilience supports recovery, continuity, and long-term sustainability. The study adopts a structured narrative review methodology to analyze peer-reviewed journal articles, seminal books, and recent empirical studies published across management, operations, and organizational studies domains. Emerging trends such as digital transformation, agile leadership, data-driven decision-making, and hybrid work systems are critically discussed to demonstrate how agility and resilience are evolving in practice. The review further explores applications across industries including manufacturing, healthcare, supply chains, and knowledge-intensive organizations, emphasizing their relevance to both large enterprises and small and medium-sized firms. By integrating theoretical perspectives with applied insights, this review identifies key gaps in existing research and proposes future research directions focused on measurement models, contextual adaptability, and the integration of sustainability and human-centered approaches. Overall, the review contributes to management scholarship by offering a comprehensive synthesis of organizational agility and resilience, clarifying their interdependence, and underscoring their strategic importance in navigating complexity and uncertainty in modern business environments.
Um-e-Kulsoom

https://globaldigitallibrary.com/journals/ioarp-jbm/article/view/172

The rapid diffusion of digital technologies has fundamentally reshaped competitive landscapes, compelling organizations to continuously adapt their strategies, structures, and managerial practices. Digitalization has altered how firms create value, interact with stakeholders, and respond to environmental uncertainty. This review synthesizes contemporary literature on strategic adaptation in the digital era, focusing on how business management practices evolve in response to technological disruption. Drawing on studies from strategic management, innovation, organizational theory, and information systems, the paper examines key themes such as digital transformation, organizational agility, leadership capabilities, data-driven decision-making, and dynamic capabilities. The review highlights how successful strategic adaptation depends not only on technological adoption but also on cultural alignment, human capital development, and governance mechanisms. Despite growing scholarly attention, the literature remains fragmented, with limited integrative frameworks and insufficient longitudinal and contextual analyses. This paper identifies critical challenges, including resistance to change, capability gaps, and ethical concerns, and outlines future research directions to advance understanding of strategic adaptation in digitally intensive environments. The study contributes by offering a consolidated view of digital-era management practices and providing a foundation for both scholars and practitioners seeking to navigate ongoing digital disruption
Hassan Raza

https://globaldigitallibrary.com/journals/ioarp-jbm/article/view/170

Innovation management (IM) has emerged as a central pillar for firms seeking sustainable competitive advantage (CA) in dynamic and turbulent markets. This systematic review synthesizes empirical and theoretical research on how innovation management practices influence competitive advantage across industries and contexts. Drawing on literature from strategic management, technology management, and organizational behavior, we examine definitions, conceptual frameworks, mechanisms of influence, mediating factors, and outcomes. We conclude that innovation management mediates firm performance through dynamic capabilities, organizational learning, and resource orchestration, and is contingent on firm context, industry dynamics, and environmental turbulence. Future research directions include integrating digital transformation, open innovation ecosystems, and microfoundations of innovation dynamics.
Farzana Akter
